Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently drive commercial trucks and trailers to deliver freight on schedule.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and document any issues immediately.
- Freight Handling: Load and unload cargo securely using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Route Management: Plan and follow efficient routes while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including logs (ELD) and delivery receipts.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure a positive shipping experience.
- Maintenance: Report mechanical issues to management promptly to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience preferred (entry-level with training considered).
- Medical Certification: Current DOT medical card required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.
- Equipment: Willingness to operate company-provided equipment (Tanks, Flatbed, or Dry Van).
