Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently over local/regional routes
- Inspect vehicles before/after trips to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan and follow optimal delivery schedules to meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all shipments
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Adhere to all federal/state highway safety regulations
- Secure and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Kansas City metro area and surrounding regions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of freight documentation and logistics software
