Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in urban and highway environments.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing all freight.
- Maintain accurate Driver's Logs (ELD/HOS) and inspection reports (DVIR) as required by federal regulations.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of the driver, team, and cargo at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery times, route changes, and traffic conditions.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current DOT medical card and valid DOT physical examination.
- Pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Familiarity with DC area traffic patterns and local delivery zones is highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings or late evenings.
