Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently on interstate and local routes, including NY and IL corridors.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage and ensure driver safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding driving hours and speed limits.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and warehouse staff.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of highway systems, including navigation between New York and Illinois.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
