Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations in the New York area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads against shifting.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to minimize accidents and violations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck.
- Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screening and background check.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physically capable of lifting cargo, climbing in and out of the cab, and sitting for extended periods.
