Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) for the delivery of freight across Georgia and neighboring states.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual equipment efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading and unloading processes.
- Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime as required.
