Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional and long-haul routes
- Adhere to DOT regulations including HOS compliance and electronic logging
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment and securement techniques
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance reports
- Navigate optimized routes using GPS and real-time traffic monitoring
- Maintain accurate delivery records and customer communication logs
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment certification
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with hazmat regulations (certification a plus)
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and fleet management systems
- Strong knowledge of Houston metro area and Texas highway networks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
