Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify maintenance needs.
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe, courteous, and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring weight distribution and cargo protection.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
