Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van/refrigerated) on regional routes across Texas and surrounding states
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and perform routine vehicle maintenance checks
- Accurately maintain electronic logs, delivery documentation, and compliance records
- Load/unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel
- Adapt to changing schedules and route conditions while maintaining on-time delivery performance
- Represent Southwest Logistics Group with professionalism during all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience (recent graduates welcome with training)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Basic familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation software
- Strong commitment to safety compliance and defensive driving practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts and occasional weekends as needed
