Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) for local/regional routes
- Pre-trip inspections and post-trip documentation to ensure DOT compliance
- Load/unload freight with precision and care, verifying shipment accuracy
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and adhere to Hours of Service regulations
- Communicate with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform minor preventative maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
- Uphold strict safety protocols and defensive driving practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate loading equipment
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Familiarity with Detroit metro area and Midwest routes
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred
- Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed
- Strong communication and time-management skills
