Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks delivering freight to regional destinations within 300 miles of Raleigh
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance records
- Plan optimized routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment handling protocols
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere strictly to HOS regulations and safety protocols
- Represent Swift professionally with clean appearance and courteous customer service
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean MVR with no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong communication skills for client interactions
- Flexibility for overnight regional runs (2-3 nights per week)
