Responsibilities
- Operate commercial delivery trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Navigate assigned routes in the Washington DC metro area to meet strict delivery schedules.
- Interact professionally with clients and customers at delivery locations, resolving any issues with courtesy.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging device (ELD) entries.
- Keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia roadways.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
