Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A or Class B delivery trucks to transport goods to designated destinations across the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Compliance & Safety: Strictly adhere to all DOT regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules, pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections, and safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers during loading and unloading processes to ensure satisfaction and accurate delivery of goods.
- Route Management: Manage delivery schedules, navigate efficiently, and communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any route deviations or delays.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it remains in optimal operating condition and report any maintenance issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements.
- Medical Certification: Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and drug screening.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and GPS systems accurately.
