Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (tractor-trailers, flatbeds) adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and cargo integrity.
- Load and secure cargo using appropriate straps and chains, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely deliveries and accurate documentation.
- Uphold a professional image and demonstrate superior customer service at every interaction.
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) available for inspection.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
