Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) in compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems while adhering to delivery schedules
- Inspect vehicles before/after trips to ensure mechanical safety and report maintenance needs
- Load/unload cargo with proper techniques and securement protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Participate in quarterly safety training and certification updates
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with at least 2 years verifiable experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving) in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Hazmat materials handling (preferred but not required)
- Experience with electronic logging systems (ELD) and route planning software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Flexibility for occasional overnight trips (1-2 nights per month)
