Responsibilities
- Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the commercial vehicle to ensure safety and compliance before and after every shift.
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive trucks and trailers in a safe, efficient, and legally compliant manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and bars, ensuring the protection of goods during transit.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery information using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients to ensure satisfaction with deliveries and service.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to the maintenance department to prevent breakdowns.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the required endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples).
- Clean Driving Record: A current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) demonstrating a clean driving history with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable professional driving experience in a similar role.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods during loading and unloading.
- Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
