Responsibilities
- Conduct Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Perform thorough safety inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and prevent mechanical issues on the road.
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Navigate diverse routes, including interstate and local highways, with a focus on defensive driving and accident prevention.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Secure loads properly using straps, chains, and binders to ensure cargo integrity during transit.
- Maintain Clean Records: Keep accurate logs (ELD, DVIR) and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with FMCSA standards.
- Customer Service: Deliver freight on time and in excellent condition, maintaining a professional demeanor with customers and dispatchers.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples) as required for the role.
- Clean Driving Record: A verifiable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and no DUIs within the last 7 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use two-way radios and electronic logging devices.
