Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers on dedicated weekend routes throughout Texas and regional destinations
- Adhere to strict HOS regulations and maintain meticulous DOT-compliant logs
- Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of freight with proper weight distribution
- Utilize advanced GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and on-time delivery
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team regarding route conditions and delivery status
- Maintain professional appearance and represent Swift's brand standards at all customer sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices and transportation software
- Strong knowledge of Texas roadways and regional transit corridors
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining safety-focused mindset
