Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) to deliver goods to designated locations within the DC metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety standards are met.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling of freight.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies while navigating busy urban routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Uphold a professional image and represent Capital Freight Logistics with excellence.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record.
- Must be available to work exclusively on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DC traffic patterns and local regulations is a plus.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated work ethic.
