Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) to deliver cargo to designated locations in Virginia Beach and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and paperwork, including delivery receipts and bills of lading.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) with appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) medical requirements (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
