Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring all items are protected from damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and complete all required paperwork on time.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and route changes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned vehicle at all times.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure the safety of the driver, cargo, and the general public.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B) is required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and carry cargo weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
