Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on regional routes within and around Sacramento.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure 100% compliance.
- Load and unload cargo safely, adhering to weight distribution and securement protocols.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and daily delivery paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with dock personnel and clients.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Report mechanical issues or road hazards immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements (Hazmat/Tanker desired but not required).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Achieved a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate commerce.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
