Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A or Class B vehicles to transport freight to designated destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor, ensuring weight distribution is accurate.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, HOS, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, or Double/Triple Trailer preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than two preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holidays as required by the schedule.
- Pass a DOT physical examination and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEDCARD).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, safe decisions in traffic.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and communication purposes.
