Job Overview:
As a CDL Driver at Premier Transport, you will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently across the New York region and beyond. We offer a supportive team environment and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or Class B) in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and mechanical integrity of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling.
- Maintain accurate records, including electronic logging devices (ELD), delivery receipts, and vehicle condition reports.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols to maintain a clean driving record and ensure the safety of cargo and other road users.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B ( endorsements such as Tanker or Hazmat are a plus but not required).
- Current, valid DOT Medical Card.
- Clean driving record with no major violations ( DUI, reckless driving, etc.) within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Physical ability to load and unload freight and handle basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
