Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) to transport goods throughout Texas
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, HOS guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight using proper techniques and equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery/pickup interactions
- Utilize GPS technology for efficient route planning and delivery tracking
- Complete required paperwork (delivery confirmations, bills of lading) accurately
- Maintain clean driving record and report any incidents immediately
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Familiarity with Houston metro area and Texas highway systems
- Basic knowledge of freight handling and securement procedures
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
