Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) to transport freight per DOT regulations
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems while adhering to delivery schedules
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment handling and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Document delivery receipts and resolve delivery exceptions promptly
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with all federal/state transportation laws
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday/Sunday) with flexible weekday availability
- Pass DOT physical and substance screening
- Familiarity with Baltimore metro area and Mid-Atlantic corridor routes
- Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside assistance situations
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly during loading/unloading
