Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for weekend freight deliveries across Southern California
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT-compliant logbooks
- Coordinate with dispatch teams to ensure on-time weekend deliveries to Long Beach ports and distribution centers
- Secure and unload cargo using industry-standard techniques and equipment
- Adhere to all FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with clients and warehouse personnel during weekend operations
- Report maintenance issues and vehicle performance concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Familiarity with Southern California routes and port operations
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Flexibility to work weekends (Saturday/Sunday) with occasional weekday availability
