Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) for weekend deliveries across Michigan and surrounding states
- Perform pre-trip inspections, load/unload cargo, and maintain accurate delivery documentation
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Manage route optimization to meet tight delivery schedules and maintain on-time performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status and issues
- Conduct post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with Hours of Service (HOS) requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Michigan roadways and weather conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and defensive driving practices
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday shifts) with flexibility for occasional weekday coverage
