Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for weekend delivery routes throughout Maryland and surrounding states
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logging system records
- Coordinate loading/unloading operations at client sites using manual pallet jacks and forklifts
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HAZMAT protocols, and company safety policies
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and maintain on-time performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status and delays
- Complete necessary paperwork including delivery confirmations and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience in commercial transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate warehouse equipment safely
- Familiarity with Maryland roadways and Mid-Atlantic delivery routes
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening requirements
- Proficient in electronic logging devices and basic smartphone technology
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet strict delivery deadlines
- Flexibility to work extended shifts during peak demand periods
