Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for long-haul and regional routes
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Inspect vehicles pre/post-trip and report maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques
- Build client relationships through professional communication
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Virginia Beach and Mid-Atlantic corridor routes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong commitment to safety compliance and defensive driving
- Basic navigation skills (GPS systems preferred)
- Team player with excellent communication abilities
