Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for long-haul routes across the continental US
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and comply with all DOT regulations
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route planning and delivery timelines
- Handle hazardous materials endorsements when required for specialized freight
- Represent Swift with professionalism in customer interactions
- Participate in continuous safety training programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
- Willingness to spend 3-5 weeks on the road per month
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
- Flexibility for irregular schedules and overnight stays
