Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently in compliance with all federal and state DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in optimal condition.
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and bars, ensuring weight distribution and load safety.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Load and unload freight with care, minimizing damage and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, or Doubles/Triples preferred but not mandatory).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card).
- A clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- At least 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and map reading.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading tasks.
