Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles over long distances while adhering to DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Represent Swift with professionalism at all customer interactions
- Maintain clean driving record and compliance with safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year OTR or regional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Flexible schedule including weekends and overnight trips
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Must pass background check and company orientation
