Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on highways and local routes within Louisiana and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in accordance with federal laws.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring freight safety during transit.
- Provide exceptional customer service to shippers and receivers, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays, route changes, or mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B.
- Clear driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by operational needs.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
