Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring cargo integrity and weight distribution compliance.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS and mapping software to ensure timely deliveries across the East Coast and West Coast routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Uphold a professional image and demonstrate exceptional customer service at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of North Carolina (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of DOT hours-of-service regulations and cargo securement procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing routine vehicle checks and minor adjustments.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
