Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials throughout San Francisco Bay Area
- Perform pre-trip inspections, maintenance checks, and ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and securement protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic logs, delivery records, and incident reports
- Communicate proactively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams for seamless operations
- Adhere to strict safety standards and participate in quarterly safety training programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Familiarity with California roadways, traffic patterns, and delivery restrictions
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement rules and hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT endorsement preferred)
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation software
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills for dynamic urban environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
