Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Inspect the vehicle prior to and after each trip to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including logs (ELD), delivery receipts, and mileage reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required by the Department of Transportation.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Florida.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than two preventable accidents in the last three years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT/HOS regulations.
- Willingness to travel to Georgia and surrounding regions as needed.
