Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional routes within Illinois and surrounding states
- Adhere to strict FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques
- Optimize delivery routes for efficiency and on-time performance
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Maintain electronic logging system (ELD) compliance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metro area and Midwest geography
- Experience with refrigerated or dry freight preferred
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
