Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques using straps, chains, and tarps
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Complete electronic logging system (ELD) documentation and paperwork
- Represent Swift Transportation professionally in customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 1 year verifiable experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of NYC metro area transportation routes
- Experience with refrigerated or flatbed freight preferred
- HAZMAT endorsement a plus but not required
- Must be available for overnight trips and flexible scheduling
