Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe, legal, and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any discrepancies.
- Load and secure cargo using appropriate straps, chains, and bars.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and required paperwork.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle interior and exterior.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driverās License (CDL) Class A with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety protocols, and cargo securement.
- Willingness to cross state lines for regional and OTR routes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting.
