Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional routes within Texas and surrounding states
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD)
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight with proper securement techniques using provided equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, and route changes
- Operate in all weather conditions while maintaining defensive driving practices
- Complete required paperwork and digital documentation for each shipment
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience (no-touch freight a plus)
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of freight securement and cargo handling procedures
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with Texas roadways
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and climb trailer steps safely
