Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (53' dry van reefers) on regional Texas routes
- Adhere to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance
- Load/unload freight efficiently with proper securement techniques
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route status and delays
- Represent Swift professionally at customer facilities
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Texas residency required for regional routes
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Texas highway systems and border crossings
- Basic computer skills for ELD and communication tools
- Must be 23+ years old with hazardous materials endorsement (HAZMAT)
- Flexible schedule availability including nights/weekends
