Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods across designated routes in Arizona and surrounding states
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation while adhering to HOS requirements
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment and securement techniques to prevent damage
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams regarding delivery status
- Respond proactively to route changes, weather conditions, and traffic situations
- Uphold Desert Star's safety standards through defensive driving practices
- Assist in training new drivers on company protocols and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean MVR (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and random drug screening
- Familiarity with AZ DOT regulations and electronic logging devices
- Proven ability to operate manual transmission and air brake systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
