Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and box trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the cargo and vehicle are secure and roadworthy.
- Load and unload freight accurately and efficiently using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Adhere to company policies regarding hours of service (HOS) and DOT compliance.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (Required).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience in a commercial environment (Preferred).
- Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
