Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or Class B) to deliver goods to designated locations within the Jacksonville area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring cargo integrity during transport.
- Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, and delivery paperwork in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all company policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the required endorsements (Class A preferred for long-haul, Class B for local).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and map reading.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties associated with loading/unloading.
- Reliable transportation to and from the terminal.
