Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local and regional deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Navigate Oakland's urban and port infrastructure efficiently using GPS routing
- Ensure strict compliance with DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and warehouse staff
- Complete delivery documentation and electronic logging system updates
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Bay Area traffic patterns and delivery zones
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred (training provided if not certified)
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices and mobile communication tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and customer service skills
