Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods across North Carolina and Southeast
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Plan efficient routes while adhering to DOT regulations and delivery schedules
- Secure and properly handle cargo during transit and unloading
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and issues
- Complete all required documentation and safety compliance paperwork
- Represent Swift Logistics with professionalism in all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B license (or willingness to obtain through our training program)
- No prior driving experience required - we provide comprehensive training
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Basic math skills for trip planning and log maintenance
- Strong commitment to safety and punctuality
- Flexibility for regional travel and overnight trips
