Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is road-ready.
- Deliver products to customers in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring the correct items are received.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time and mileage using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle's interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and cargo handling.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Driver's License (Class C or higher).
- Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic reading and math skills for cargo documentation.
- Willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if not already held (training may be available).
