Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts and bills of lading.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Uphold a professional image and represent Apex Logistics with excellence at all times.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples are a plus).
- No Experience? We Train: Candidates with no commercial driving experience are encouraged to apply; we offer paid training for the right candidates.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or serious traffic violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam, including vision, hearing, and manual dexterity requirements.
- Eligibility: Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
