Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) in accordance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSA).
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo security and proper handling.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logs within legal hours of service limits.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and road maps to meet delivery deadlines without unnecessary delays.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery times.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety, cleanliness, and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker/Hazmat preferred but not always required).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
